Energy Sources Adoption Technologies
Portable Energy Technologies Analysis

As the cost of energy has risen rather sharply around the world, many citizens have taken to producing their own fuel for automobiles and in the cold countries also home heating fuel. Often though such production systems are not very well engineered and there are potential risks associated with such production operations. Yet most of the citizens undertake the occasionally harmful projects as a matter of necessity. Even so some of those projects could be made safer with access to more structured and well engineered approach to their development and implementation. Those projects can be developed and implemented along the lines of laboratory Scale Distributed Power Technologies for the consumer use.

Two areas where consumers have ventured into rather aggressively are the biofuels and biodiesel technologies and home heaters technologies. Both of these segments as such are worthy of consumer level engineered products for adoption. Of course, that does not mean that the products already out there are not good or that there are not even products for the consumers, rather those products that are out there can be deployed in approaches similar to corporate type uses that the consumer can virtually own and operate energy technologies that are implemented at very high skills levels and yet be suitable for installation within the basement or the backyard.

In this regards, engineering analysis of various concept technologies based on engineered uses of the technologies currently in the markets for consumers should help increase the energy generation capacity of the consumer to meet the necessary needs. Effectively concept designs based on readily available products are being developed and posted here for the taking by interested consumer-developers only for individual uses only. In an effort to ensure that the technologies are for the public, these concepts may be submitted for protection under appropriate intellectual property rights declared for the general use.

The biofuel technology which includes ethanol and biodiesel production will be extensively developed for the needs and lifestyles of consumers. Also the Solar power technologies focusing mostly on solar thermal energy technologies for consumer will be extensively developed. In each of these technologies categories the object is to take existing consumer products and build on those to further enhance the capacity of the consumer to generate large quantities of technologies.

Of course, such technologies will also cost the consumer a little more than the ordinary, given that the consumer may first have to buy the existing technology-products. So to the extent that cost may be an issue, these technologies may have to be borne by consumer groups or communities; and in all reality the technologies may be somewhat better suited for the use of communities than individuals but such decision are open to be made by the consumers.

The design rationale for the biofuel technologies illustrate the scale of the planned technologies. Specifically, though most of the technologies on green alcohols production has focused on seemingly industrial type fermentations: Packed Bed Biofilm Reactor, and Multi-Packed Bed Reactors; these reactors can just as well be scaled for the use of the consumer with minimal of maintenance needs or supervisory use. This then defines the object of the consumer energy technologies analysis thrust developing from here.

Yet development of Portable Energy Technologies for the consumer homeowner whether for automobile fuel or home use energy is impacted by several factors, some of which are the lifestyle, general conversances with technical products, space requirements, feed sources to sustain operations, amongst others; and if power is required to support the energy technologies then the source of power also becomes a factor. Actually the object of such portable technologies is low cost and self-containment, which means that

preferably the portable energy technology must be designed to bootstrap itself. In this regards the development must be based on sound specifications that may be virtually uniformly suitable for all homes, and for just about about every level of education standard of the person.
